Is there a word for when you're so groggy after your kids wake you up that it takes all you have in you to sit quietly with a cup of tea rather than go back to bed?

Okay, so the default route gets set if I *don’t* set IPv6AcceptRA in my network file, which is ... counterintuitive?

Is the router supposed to advertise the link-local address as the router address? That doesn't seem right, but radvd does it too.

I'm clearly pretty naive with all of this IPv6 stuff ...

Or is systemd’s implementation of SLAAC so hobbled that it will never work? Is this what forces me to netctl and radvd?

Am I the only person who has ever tried to automatically set an IPv6 route using systemd-networkd on both the client and router sides? I mean, it does work somehow, right?

This is worth a periodic re-share:

Because sometimes the old ways are good ways. 🧓

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs." - John Rogers

i don't rly think federated git is necessary

all you need it self-hosted repos with a decentralised auth service and i mean gitea supports openid so what more do you need

no need to shoehorn activitypub into everything

Now that Amazon has made their announcement, it seems like a good time to call out how incredibly cynical Amazon’s process has been here

Coworker: “When I turn my firewall on, the system stops responding to pings.”

IT Experts: “Try these complicated diagnostics to rule out all the corner cases.”

Me: “Sounds like your firewall is blocking ICMP.”

The lesson: Don’t let your experience lead you to forget the obvious.

TIL Git has an internal command to generate a pull request.

So I guess this is how people do it with cgit?
