Why, in 2018, whenever I drag a file from a folder to the Windows desktop does the OS put the icon anywhere it wants?

It’s like, I pointed *exactly* where I wanted you to put the icon, you jerk!

@djmoch I think there's like an 'Auto Arrange' setting in the right click context menu when you right click on an empty part of the desktop. But then again, I only use Windows 10 to play video games at home, and it's days are numbered.

@russsaidwords Thanks. Hopefully that will help. I still think it’s weird that the default behavior isn’t for the icon to appear underneath my cursor. That’s what “drag and drop” means, isn’t it?

@djmoch Totally agree. In my opinion, Windows defaults to spying on it's users and little else that's useful or makes sense. ;-)
