Taking Into Account, Ep 44 - Angry Devs, Quake, Snap Store, Linux Mint Should Die

@distrotube Speaking of Open Source Graphics Packages, YouTube recommended jchristina's channel to me a couple of weeks ago. He is a long-time Adobe and Adobe CC user that has decided to look for alternatives.

Thank you Derek for mentioning my comment.

I wonder if the good folk at Linux Mint could focus solely on LMDE (Debian Edition) and backport the Cinnamon DE so it's more up to date. 💡 :debian:

My take on Linux Mint is that it's a better & more secure version of Ubuntu, unlike Ubuntu it has no telemetry, it uses Flatpaks instead of Snaps & it is the only distro I know of that allows you to encrypt the home folder on setup. Also cinnamon is the best GUI I've ever used.

"It's safe and reliable. Thanks to a conservative approach to software updates, a unique Update Manager and the robustness of its Linux architecture, Linux Mint requires very little maintenance (no regressions, no antivirus, no anti-spyware...etc)."

Not sure how much I'd trust anyone who writes misleading things like this on their homepage.

I got a kernal mod rootkit a couple months ago. But as far as simple & reliable goes I never have an issue even with the latest kernel. Never really had an issue with anything.
