I doubt there is any technology that is as over-hyped and at the same time as hostile to accessibility and inclusiveness as virtual reality. Pretty much anyone with any sight problem that is not your standard short/far-sightedness is out: amblyopia, astigmatism, strabismus, hypertropia, etc. Also most problems with your inner ear will make you unable to use it. Then there is claustrophobia. Then there are all the people with non-standard head and body sizes.
@deshipu Don't forget gorilla arm. Waving your arms around in front of you for four hours fucking hurts.
@deshipu then don't use it
@deshipu Microsoft Windows has a much bigger problem with accessibility and inclusiveness: it is hostile and unforgiving to those who don't like using it.
This Mastodon instance is for people interested in technology. Discussions aren't limited to technology, because tech folks shouldn't be limited to technology either!
