@dennis 4:3 i can understand, since that's how you get maximum resolution out of some cameras (like my phone).

The pixels across the screen are the same when shooting in 16:9. Of course, the image will result with fewer pixels from top to bottom as the image is narrower. However you will end up with a smaller total screen image on wide-screen devices. You will have black bands to the sides and everything will, out of necessity, look smaller.
