What the hell? Apparently non-profits can apply (and get accepted to) Y Combinator?

What on earth is the point of doing that?

@cuchaz the org gets money and YC gets to launder their reputation?

@shadowfacts Investor money always comes with strings though… particularly expectations of future profit. How does that even work with an org that is explicitly non-profit? Why would investors just give away money? Is this just straight up philanthropy?
