@conservancy @paoloredaelli I don't think it is correct to say they are considering to end copyright assignment to the FSF, they are simply making it non mandatory for the developers to assign the copyright to FSF gcc.gnu.org/pipermail/gcc/2021 in their words they are relaxing the requirements , or are you talking about something else?

@conservancy @brainwane Good, this is long overdue. It was an interesting experiment 20 years ago, but experience has shown it to be a failed one - even before addressing issues with the FSF specifically. Glad to see this discussion.
