Our Executive Director & Policy Fellow ( Karen Sandler & Bradley M. Kuhn) will speak at 14:00 in Janson at main track today about: "Open Source Won, but Software Freedom Hasn't Yet: A Guide & Commiseration Session for activists" at fosdem.org/2020/schedule/event

@FuckOffGoogleZurich @aral @digitalcourage @FuckOffGoogle @conservancy What they mean is they would like their family to be able to reach them when a loved one is ill, they would like to be able to get to their appointments on time, and they would like to be able to reach people who are not already convinced. Last year's keynote:

A more detailed discussion as they were preparing the keynote:

I had exactly the ill loved one scenario a couple of months ago when I mostly degooglified. I got the message a week late, relayed via two people.

We have now kind of reestablished communications through freer means, but it's a bit shaky still.
Today I went to a new office building as part of our contingency measures against the pandemic, and I briefly went to Google Maps in Firefox Klar, because OSM was using an out-of-date name and address for the building.

I will file a patch to the data once I've double- and triple-checked that the old name and address are no longer valid, and there aren't two buildings where there used to be one, you never know.
