@7daq0 Not as green as we should be.
The servers are running with renewable power as advertised by data center operators and when purchasing a new server we did research energy efficiency and durable hardware. Still, we are wasting some power because the systems load is fluctuating (we are having not enough hardware, so powering servers off when not needed is no option yet). Also, the new server is currently not under high load after all as all apps are mostly alpha with closed access ...
@7daq0 A very important topic is not only reducing energy consumption (including electronics and waste), but also adapting to its availability. We once discussed the topic of adapting the server load to available power (estimated or power grid frequency), especially for serving the CI, but a first feedback in a closed group was that waiting for a CI build longer than necessary was no option for them. Let's take this as an occasion to further spread awareness on that matter and ask the hacker community to help write sustainable software solutions with efficient products as well as efficient development workflows.
We probably need much more people working on this.
No worries. We assumed you are doing good. Keeping in mind how you started, how you are funded and what you aim at all is fine. Keep up the good work!
