@bigzaphod yeah I’m fine with transparency everywhere else. Tried it & didn’t like it. No one design decision has caused me this much stress as I have to keep running apps to update my wallpaper to put a dark bar at the top, every time I change it πŸ˜“

@bigzaphod honestly at this point I just want my opaque menu bar back. I'm so surprised more people haven't complained about it. I made the choice to turn on dark mode, I wish Apple would respect that and always make my menu bar black/dark regardless of whatever wallpaper choice I make

Nothing quite like getting recruiter email from a nft company in the middle of a crypto collapse

I’ve wondered this same thing about photos of Japan for years, and he nailed it.

@jagreda yeah it’s a neat little device. Super compact compared to my 13 Pro Max , plus I forgot this still had a Headphone Jack

I’d make a β€œWhat is this an iPod for ants?” Joke, but then I remember at one point I gave an iPod that was basically the size of a small clip to my dad

I completely forgot how ridiculously small these iPod touches are. Also I got one when like iOS 5 was new (idk I don’t remember exactly) and the packaging for the one that arrived today looks identical to the one from years ago.

I did a quick re-record of my talk "Why HyperCard was so f***ing great" from NSConference 2014 based on the original notes and slides. In case you always wanted to know what HyperCard was: youtube.com/watch?v=2K1C5BZKP3

It’s absurd how much faster my M1 Pro MBP is at importing my A7RIV Raw files over the 16 inch Intel MBP. Even with the M1 MBP on battery, and the Intel plugged in, it’s no contest.

Apple today announced financial results for its fiscal 2022 second quarter ended March 26, 2022. The Company posted a March quarter revenue record of $97.3 billion, up 9 percent year over year, and quarterly earnings per diluted share of $1.52.

TIL #Mastodon is working on E2E encrypted messaging and some kind of Groups feature.

They're mentioned at the end of this post about the recent boom in new users coming to the platform: blog.joinmastodon.org/2022/04/

@millenomi yeah all of this package updating isn’t easy. I was just thinking of the Swift by Sundel podcast where someone was mentioning a nice future for swift could be being able to pull in bug fix updates for these libraries on the fly

It feels like at some point we are going to need to be able to update the Swift libraries independent of Xcode & os updates forums.swift.org/t/new-xcode-o

That feeling in Destiny 2 when you start working your way through that multi boss public event in Witch Queen and someone comes along and helps you and you work well together and beat the event.

@echoz I think the important thing is that it works for people new to mastodon

Had no idea the mastodon social site published a semi official iOS app until I revisited the site today

Trying to get better at Hitman. To unlock a costume I re did β€œThe Final Test” (one of the first levels from the original game) and did it Silent Assassin + Suit only in about 3 minutes. I’m sure I can maybe knock the time down a bit with more practice. The first time I played this level it took me half an hour to figure out youtube.com/watch?v=fApvLSFi5z

I'd like to thank hostux.social for hosting my previous Mastodon account, and for being gracious enough to give me plenty of time and notice before shutting down. In combination with mastodon account migration this has been one of the easiest transitions I've ever done.
