Just discovered #bat, a drop-in replacement for the Unix `cat` command. It supports automatic paging, line numbers, and syntax highlighting, and it is extensible with custom color schemes.

#DuckDuckGo is profitable since 2014 without tracking people. Instead they sell plain #advertisement slots based on keywords. I think other webpages and news site could do the same. Using advertisement to fund you online presence isn't bad in general. The fact that many browsers today come with "readability mode" just shows that bloggers need to focus more on typography and readability and less on a fancy layout.

Apparently Google was in the running to buy Github, but lost out to Microsoft.

Which would you have preferred? Google has a good track record with open source projects, and even used to support SVN projects on Google Code until it was shuttered.
