Is having a lot of citrus peels in compost problematic, or does the citric acid break down? I don't want acidic soil.
@cj all I remember is that it has a lot of natural preservatives (?) so it decomposes very slowly. Which is why I never composted them back when I ran a balcony compost.

The problem seems rather to be that they are very resistant.
