I'm not sure when Fedi got suddenly interested in the Long-Term Radioactive Waste Warning Site research that Sandia National Labs did, but that report is available here:
It is really 3 papers in one (the main one, Team A paper, and Team B paper). It is firmly on the "weird" side of weird US Government reports released to the public. Page 150 begins the famed illustrations.
This was something taught at the Nuclear Engineering program at my University, but not in deep depth.
Those designs and the thinking behind them (in the section before the illustrations) are fascinating, but I gotta stop looking....
