I’ve been a lifetime user and have always developed on Windows machines. I’ve switched over to almost two months ago and it has been mostly painless.

I have an amazing and highly customized set-up right now with a lot of productivity enhancements.

I’m thinking about writing a post about my process and experience. Is that something you might be interested in?

Please do, it's always great to see what other people are up too with their system.

And it makes a great resource for others thinking of doing the same thing.

@robjloranger welp. If I was able to help just one person with a post then it’s worth it for me.

Will take some time to do a proper write-up though. Stay tuned!

@robjloranger small update on this: the huge article about how I customized everything can now be summarized as: just install Kubuntu and you’re almost ready to go. So I’m rethinking and rewriting most of it.

Anything in particular you would like to see covered?

I'm personally interested in others customizations. I love seeing what plugins/extensions and tweaks people use with what software as well.

I think for others looking to switch over for the first time, any install tips or troubles you overcame are always good.

@robjloranger I well then you’re in luck. All the tools I’ve installed come from the main repository save a few. And the dot files I use are open source with a few customizations here and there. Will put them up on my :github: at some point in time. 😇
