Check out GitLab instead I guess. Tis but a rumor for now at least

@trevdev GitLab is awesome, we use it at work, GNOME has migrated to it and FreeDesktop is in process of migration, but most people/projects won't be bothered enough to migrate. Migration might be a solution for each individual, but not for the problem as a whole.

We'll end up with *millions* of open source, free software projects hosted on Microsoft's service, on Microsoft's infrastructure. I'm not a Microsoft hater, but I'm uncomfortable with the idea of that happening.

@bugaevc I'm still thinking if i should change to Bitbucket or just stay at Github. Why?Because Github is great and if you forget about Windows for a moment,Microsofts products aren't that bad.I'm not happy about that, too but I'm not sure if it's really THAT bad.And if Microsoft buys Github, that's still better than Google or Facebook buying Github ;)

@nipos sure, even Windows isn't that bad; but Microsoft has a history of questionable decisions (like forcing update down everyone's throat), and a reputation in the free software community. I don't hate Microsoft (and I have personally used their products in the past), but I would have to see such an important community to *rely* on them, to be at their discretion.

A better alternative would be to migrate to self-hosted/federated services, like GitLab and git-SSB.
