I got to drive an elevator in independent service mode today. 🛗 :blobcatstop:

Turns out USB over Ethernet is a thing, and it might just be what I need to wire my SDR antenna outside.

Antenna -coax-> Amplifier -coax-> SDR -usb-> USBoE modulator -ethernet-> EoP modulator -mains-> EoP demodulator -ethernet-> USBoE demodulator -usb-> computer

Talk about a simple setup!

Bought a cheapo SDR, a 15m coax cable, and already managed to make it work with my Sony AM antenna amplifier. Oh boy, can’t wait until I move to my new place next week, hoping the high floor will mean better reception.

No joke, Village People’s “YMCA” has one of the most fun baselines I know of. I’ve been trying to learn it but it’s very tricky.

Wow! Elton John’s debut album Empty Sky (1969) has been re-remastered and it sounds beautiful! What a wonderful job, I’m truly impressed.

Finally, a Dolby Atmos remix of an old album that sounds absolutely great. On my AirPods Max it sounds like it’s playing on speakers.

It's called "", cause the articles are neither rare nor well done.

“Babbage understood that the existence of an automatic computer would kindle interest in the field now known as algorithmic efficiency, writing in his Passages from the Life of a Philosopher, ‘As soon as an Analytical Engine exists, it will necessarily guide the future course of the science. Whenever any result is sought by its aid, the question will then arise—By what course of calculation can these results be arrived at by the machine in the shortest time?’”
