The hardest part of learning music from videos is that they all use letter names for keys and I’m used to the Solfège names. My brain no likey.
@kai That’s interesting. I had never heard of that but apparently there’s a fixed version and a movable version. I learned the fixed one, and learned to associate names with tones, sort of a proxy relative pitch.
@brunoph fixed is just not useful as a music learning tool.
The movable one can actually teach you tonality because you associate the syllables with tonal *functions*
Note letter names might help you play an instrument but they don't have any inherent functional meaning.
