this feels like a silly question, but is there a “nice” way to find the IANA tz database name for a given location? The Wikipedia list is kind of horrible

@ticky there has got to be some kind of convenient database, cause I've seen things do autodetection of timezone from geolocation... but I've not come across a convenient library or tool for it yet.

@brion yeah, like, there’s the database, but I see no nice way to query said database

@ticky @brion `tzselect -c` on linux can take a lat/long and tell give you the IANA location. It's not scriptable as far as i can tell.
