“‘Genocide is what happens when a people are discriminated against, corralled, and led to slaughter,’ he writes in … a paper published in the state of Israel—a state that bulldozes Palestinian houses while giving subsidized homes to American settlers of Jewish descent, ethnically cleansed 80 percent of the indigenous population upon its founding, imprisoned millions in militarily occupied ghettos, and just slaughtered one out of every 1,000 people living in Gaza”

"fun" fact: banks collected about 30 billion in overdraft fees in 2020. in other words: banks stole 30 billion dollars from people with no money during a pandemic.

@uint8_t Darknet Diaries. The stories are detailed and very interesting.

@sant I have not been on IRC in ages either and decided to hop on and see what's going since all this noise reminded me of it.

I wonder if all this freenode/ drama is causing an influx of new irc users 🤔

@chris Congratulations! Taking care of my health was one of the best life choices I've ever made. I hope things keep getting better for you.

Security keys are now supported for SSH Git operations

You can now use FIDO2 security keys to authenticate over SSH for remote Git operations, providing a higher level of account security.

re: Why do you use $OperatingSystem?

@niamtokik @solene You can try out Android-x86 ( if you want the full open source approach. Or you can try BlissOS ( if you want something a little more user friendly.

Why do you use $OperatingSystem?

@solene Android because it's mostly open source and, IMO, its security model is a good fit for end-user devices.

Linux on the server because a combination of experience, manageability, ecosystem and why not.

Tens of thousands of Palestinians displaced in Gaza: UN

“‘Our children need to be distracted with toys or anything that will take their minds off the bombing and the fear they’ve been living in,’ she said. ‘The bombing is all they talk of now.’”

@jwildeboer Reunification implies two previously unified states and people becoming unified again, which might be a possibility between Northern and Southern Sudan. The Israeli _state_ however is an occupying (see: ) and apartheid (see: ) state, not a state split from the Palestinian state. I agree that any peace process must make room for the Israeli _people_, but it must also restore the Palestinian land and rights as well.

@jwildeboer yes but you will be supporting an occupying force. It's kind of like supporting a "two state" solution between India and the British.
