if you boil your hotdogs you are a horrible person
food, hot dogs
there's a chain called ted's hot dogs in new york that has made the best damn hot dogs i have ever eaten in my life. they are the main reason i hold this take. the first time i had a hot dog from ted's literally changed my entire outlook on hot dogs. the only reason i want to go back to upstate new york is so i can go to a ted's again. it's been 15 years

@bclindner hey now, what's all this nonsense then? you can use a cookie cooling rack over top the boiling water to steam yer buns

@ashfurrow
or
OR
if pan-frying or grilling them you can toast the buns which is even better

@bclindner this is true, but, does it remind me of my childhood? does it taste of nostalgia? hmm??

@ashfurrow Ash I thought you were better than this
food real talk, poverty
@bclindner we didn't grow up with much money, sometimes all we had were hot dogs and kraft dinner to eat (still a lot better than many people). sometimes I still make hot dogs + KD just because it makes me feel cozy 🥰
food real talk, poverty
@ashfurrow that's fair, i've been in cheese sandwiches and rice territory many times when i was a kid. and i still vibe with kraft dinner sometimes, but some switch flipped in my head years ago and boiled hot dogs are just pure heresy to me now
food real talk
@bclindner I would never argue it's a better way to prepare, I mean, grilled with onions, maybe some red peppers, jeepers that sound good rn

@bclindner I've seen what you consider good food, I'd be concerned if you thought boiling hot dogs was good

seriously try frying or grilling some decent hot dogs just once please
