problem now being the router won't connect to the internet without a modem reset for some reason
@bclindner The only way I could see that happening is if the router was changing it's mac address every time. It should only require that once, right after flashing dd-wrt onto the router. Cable modems get quite attached to the mac address of the device they are connected to and require a reset when you change it.
