Just watched Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 11/9.

Can't believe Gwen Stefani got Trump elected. This is why women shouldn't make more money than men, because we might throw a tantrum and fuck up the whole world. It's all quite scary.

Also, happy new year, I guess? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Google has been coming out with some great things recently, the best of them being that they hosted Daniel Elsberg in Jan 2018. Must watch.

This is the kind of thing that gives me hope in our species. Let's make sure this year that humanity continues to live, kicking and screaming, and exploring the edges of its existence as we have so far.

I just finished watching Neon Genesis Evangelion. My new year's resolution is to never watch depressing Japanese anime that is less fun and more introspective soul-searching.

I'm watching This Is Us these days. Its very real and emotionally turbulent. Its surprisingly a lot scarier than Black Mirror but in a different way. Worth watching.

I've become very disillusioned with current sci-fi movies. They've become very commercial, short-sighted, dumbed-down, and do not tackle complex issues. They're not even fun. But the older ones are really amazing. I recommend the following to start with:

The Time Machine (1960)

2001 - A Space Odyssey (1968)

Silent Running (1972)

Soylent Green (1973)

Capricorn One (1978)

Starship Troopers (1987)

They say that Millennials have less sex. Yep. That's totally why I have no love life. I'm just being trendy... ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Stan Lee may have played down contributions of co-creators and revised facts in his anecdotes with every re-telling.

But I won't deny that he still contributed to a large number of the heroes of our childhoods and our adult lives, and pushed the modern way of comic storytelling.

RT @attackerman@twitter.com: Stan Lee's legacy is undeniable โ€“ & undeniably complicated. His greatest collaborator, Jack Kirby, a greater visionary than Stan, became his bitterest foe. And yet he wasn't just an editor or a corporate overlord. My attempt at a messy, honest obit.

OH MY FUCKING GOD I LOVE MASTODON SO MUCH. YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING HOLY SHIT

My spirits haven't been so low in a long time.

The last time I was in this place was in 2014, shortly before landing a contract to write graphics algorithms for Imoji, an American startup since acquired by Giphy, that was developing an app for stickers that they called imoji; image emojis.

When I have a job, I have a life.
When I like my job, I like my life.
When I hate my job, I hate my life.
When I lose my job, I lose my life.

I wish I had more than this, that I had a fuller life, that my career wasn't the only thing I have. Without a job, I'm a tramp at your door.
