Nerds complaining about Electron, I’m tired of it.

“Have you ever written anything in Electron?”

“lol no, I’d never write JavaScr—“

“Then maybe shut the fuck up.”

@ashfurrow What I've noticed is that everyone loves to hate on Javascript and then also everyone uses Javascript for everything.


So on one hand, I get where you're coming from and I can see the advantage of being able to reuse webdev skills on the desktop.

On the other hand, it significantly bumps the system requirements of even a trivial app to the point where it won't work on low-end hardware, which is a problem if you're poor or trying to recycle old gear.

And I'm sort of offended by the gratuitous wastefulness of it all. Tcl/Tk does exactly the same thing but is much, much more efficient.
