I consistently fail to find any junior softeng positions, and all non junior positions reject me over me being a junior. Does anyone know of a remote company hiring? (No Blockchain or javascript pls) Boosts appreciated

I've been looking for a job for 10 months now... kind of in despair

Did I mention I hate being on call? Sweet Jesus I thought about changing jobs all morning. The RSI isn’t helping.

uspol, student loans

Epilogue: well my cousin, who was trapped in one of these loans, was just liberated from it by her husband, who paid off the balance. Rejoice!

It is so nice when technology works.

Got myself some train tickets (I like trains! 🚆 ), confirmation went to my e-mail address which I self-host using @yunohost.

I read the e-mail in the Mail app on my @nextcloud instance (on the same yunohost server), and of course it helpfully suggested I add the travel dates and relevant info into my Nextcloud calendar.

We *can* have nice things. Anyone who says cannot be user-friendly is lying through their teeth.

it's a full moon and I just happened to see the ISS fly by. cool night

This is a somewhat nascent observation, so plz bear with me.

I'm reading some software documentation. The software sits in a large ecosystem. The docs include a lot of links.

In reading the docs, I basically get lost. Hypertext is a graph, but I don't have an easy way to know which nodes I've visited.

Is there a tool which will take a hypertext document, construct its graph, and let you mark which nodes you've read? If not, why not?

Do I have to make this?

4 refugees died yesterday at the Polish border. Terrible weather and brutality of authorities lead to tragedy.

Yesterday in Lublin, Poland, activists painted bloody hands and wrote “4 dead, your fault” on the wall of the military base, to commemorate the victims of the Polish government, and to point out involvement of the Polish army in destabilizing the Middle East.

With fear and inaction we consent to those outrageous state cimes. Instead of 1-minute silence is the whole life in fighting!

Plenty of PR folks still want independence. Most PR folks don’t want Statehood.

Please don't come to Hawaii right now. We Hawaiians and other Pacific Islanders are disproportionately getting sick & dying as our hospitals overflow, and gov is just building more morgues. Don't participate in ongoing genocide.
