Making quarterly plans sucks, because in the end you are making unrealistic plan everyone expects you to achieve. Don't do quarter planning and do one you can achieve instead, e.g. monthly, or biweekly. Anything you can predict without too big error

when you work in agile mode, you typically never make plans based on grand timelines.

@alexcleac I think it's a good idea to have end goals. But keeping them on a time frame may not be a good idea. For instance, planning to buy a house in five years. That sounds like a good goal. But unless you have the money coming in regularly, that goal may not be achievable. Your suggestion of planning things either weekly or monthly is more realistic. Also, milestones can be created so as to show progress that's not necessarily on a time scale.
