Does the world need a “Lightweight Software Foundation”, or something similar?

IMO suckless are too extremist.
Our problem isn't gnu sort with tons of extra flags, our problem is electron apps eating gigabytes of RAM...

I’d need help to run such a thing. And not a small amount. Certainly more than answered the poll, though I admit I did a poor job of trying to get it “out there.”

Perhaps a small informal thing to start, with some sort of focus. Where to start? Personally, my vote would be embedded systems (pi0 and similar, not PICs), starting with a 16 MBish system image and tooling for local customization of it.
