Keybase confirmed that it will soon support Mastodon. For those not familiar with Keybase, Keybase is a key directory that maps social media identities to encryption keys (including, but not limited to PGP keys) in a publicly auditable manner. Use Keybase to establish ownership of your social media accounts like Twitter, Reddit, Facebook, etc.
@RichardSchwartz I still don't see how keybase is any better than just cross referencing your accounts and having your own domain..
@swedneck the identity part includes cryptographically signed statements on all those services, which can be automatically checked by other people's keybase tool. Sure, you *could* accomplish this by hand...but probably less uptake than keybase ;)
