@ozoned That is, albeit in a more specific sense, exactly what happened. Sesame Street told kids the truth - that the vaccine is safe and helps keep you that way. But you know how the conservative culture war leads these dumbasses to die on the dumbest possible hills.
TL;DR The pharisees hated Elmo because he told the truth.
