The monitor arms do stick out a bunch from the back of the desk, meaning I need to shift them around before I can swing the desk back flush with the rest of the shelves, but I've done that a couple of times now and it takes less than a minute which is fine.

Other picture is of the cables that go through the pipe that acts as the pivot. They're *waaayyyy* tidier than they used to be because I coiled each one up and put twist ties on all of them.

Couldn't be happier with the overall result.

This is probably my favourite part. We screwed 4 dowels into the desk to create essentially a toast rack for a laptop, so I can slot the laptop in there and I can easily swap out monitor cables and the USB cable coming from the dock on the monitor stand. Just behind this are the female ends of 2 HDMI cables and a USB extension cable taped together which come from my PC, so I can easily pull the cables out of the laptop and put them in the little bundle to switch to my PC.

This is the view from behind. This monitor stand looks fuckin' nuts and it's great. Feels *incredibly* sturdy. Can also see here my very questionable cable management which is perched precariously at the back edge of the desk.

So this is what it looks like now. Same idea as before, only now I've got a proper monitor stand, so I've freed up loads of desk space to the point where my keyboard can actually stay on the desk when I'm using it provided I add more stuff behind me to shift me forward. The base of the stand is off to the right [2]. Audio interface is in a *much* nicer spot too now, just to my left.

Might as well share what I've got. The desk swings out from the wall, so I'm sat on a sofa when using the computer (keyboard is on a little tray on my lap which is surprisingly comfortable), then when I'm done it folds away flush with the wall and then I can pull the sofa out into my bed. I need to shift the right monitor a bit and take the laptop off because they overhang, but normally the monitors are connected to my PC and don't overhang.

Based on my browser tabs, guess what I'm currently screaming at:

On the way to work this morning I saw a lorry like this one. Had to do a double take because I thought I'd found MEME LOGISTICS

Made a little mockup of a post card for Waffles. I think this could look pretty nice. Going to copy it a bunch of times so I can see a whole column of them.

shitpost may be considered slightly lewd
