DECLINE AND FALL OF THE ADSENSE EMPIRE

Question: Is the general decline of the news media on the Internet a symptom of on-line advertising's "cheapness" where it requires millions of page-views to earn any significant revenue from Google AdSense?

After all, if you have to hook people into your site with triggers and outrage measured precisely with A|B testing to get them to come, the quality of your content _must_ decline.

Disclaimer: I make money from AdSense.

@Guide42XYZ in a way, I think that is the case. Publications like BuzzFeed gained popularity with clickbait content and they made money off of that. If they tried doing proper journalism from the start they wouldn't be here.

The Outline does advertising in a much different way, and while it is in a way obtrusive, it's also not annoying and integrates with the page much better than Google ads
