In January of 1976 I was on the air (noon hour?) at KBOA in Kennett, MO, when the police scanner in the studio went nuts. Someone (dispatcher? patrolman?) was yelling that someone had robbed the bank and “took off in an airplane!” I grabbed a cassette recorder and dashed out of the station.

@smays I find them very interesting. Also makes me wonder if a lot of those things could happen today.
We've gained some things over the years, but perhaps lost things like this spontaneity.
@smays somewhat I'm sure, just wonder if corporate culture would encourage or allow. Not many independent businesses anymore
