If there's extensive lore and care poured into world building and creating an entire fantasy universe with expertly crafted characters and arcs, I'm all for it. GoT had potential but went downhill at the end. Lord of the Rings remains my favourite. But this is very close!

@JPEG LoTR is an all-time fav of mine as well, but I’ve only heard of The Witcher in relation to the games which I’ve not really considered playing. Is the Netflix series *really* a close second to LoTR?

@shahaan It's quite different in terms of a comparison but it's certainly a huge step up from other fantasy content out there. I don't feel like the games need to be played prior to watching this. The TV show is set on the books, and the games' events happen after the books' events.
