We just updated #Gitea to 1.17. As always, please report any bugs to our Community Issue Tracker. A blog post introducing the most important changes will likely follow soon.
And special thanks to @mray for designing a new landing page for us. Implementation took us a while, and there is still a lot on our backlog regarding UI renovation, but we're on it 😊
I just found out that @codeberg ia doing custom domain for pages. So you can host your pages on Codeberg and use your own domain. Lot of people stuck with GitHub because it provided pages. Now a lot of people can move to Codeberg and become free from GitHub. Amazing news.
> The problem you were facing is probably because the code you wrote uses the word "gender".
I considered this to be a good thing, but they rather quickly pointed to the "Sponsored by" section, which lists VPN and casino providers.
This is very unfortunate because those companies are known for having shady business practices, and my friends are now using this as a strong argument for not trusting Mastodon and not joining the #fediverse
Hey #gitea instance admins. Do you have SSH for your Gitea instance enabled via OpenSSH? Then be aware that you should add `AcceptEnv GIT_PROTOCOL` to your `/etc/ssh/sshd_config` file! This enables Git Wire Protocol v2 for Git over SSH.
If you're using Gitea's Internal SSH Server, this behavior will be enabled in v1.17.1
Boost are are welcome for awareness.

Exactly what developers have been requesting, another Copilot. I wonder which training data was used.
Hot take (privacy)
It's nice to occasionally have the "bad" (YouTube) algorithms serve me with interesting content to explore outside of my comfort zone, especially when the algorithms contain inaccurate information about my interests.
Well, many (privacy-conscious) humans will argue that this is bad. It is refreshing to be exposed to this. Personally, this helps to stay away from a semi-repetitive lifestyle.
Collecting data is still bad. The algorithms using those data is good.
#Fediverse you can donate to these fine people and projects that bring so much good to the community at large.
And consider to contribute in other ways.:
Boosts appreciated 🙏
In order to talk about our captcha's accessibility, we're scheduling a public meeting tomorrow (Thursday 2022-07-21) at 19.00 CEST (17.00 UTC), probably via the BigBlueButton hosting of @senfcall.
We hope to get through the important topics within an hour. I'll
happily share the link here if anyone is interested to join us.
Introducing https://darktheme.club! 🎉
With the internet being ever present and screens surrounding us all the time, personal preference is becoming more and more critical for a good user experience.
Heavily inspired by https://512kb.club, Darktheme Club is a collection of web pages from across the Internet. To qualify, your website must either use a dark theme by default, or respect the preference of the user.
@Gusted The funny thing is that my current phone does actually support wireless charging and I have bluetooth headphones, but I never use either of them.
As I'm working on https://fedi.builders I was wondering what is more important to you for picking a project to potential contribute to:
First-ever Gitea pull request from a remote instance!!! 🎉🥳
I've been waiting for this moment for months now!
The code hasn't been pushed to https://gitea.com/Ta180m/gitea yet since it's incredibly messy, but I'll clean it up tomorrow and also submit a draft pull request to upstream Gitea.
(Technical implementation information: https://gitea.com/Ta180m/gitea/issues/7)
First-ever Gitea comment on an issue from a remote instance!!! 🎉
I’m aware(and the NSA is), that I’m pretty 🌈. Gallium + Yttrium
This Mastodon instance is for people interested in technology. Discussions aren't limited to technology, because tech folks shouldn't be limited to technology either!
