TV operating systems absolutely suck.
Why can't Microsoft just release a windows operating system for TV's.
@robinjanssens Makes sense, I got so annoyed with the lack of functionality on my TV that I just got an old intel nuc and a computer remote for my TV, I will just connect it to the HDMI and get all the functionality I want, The only problem is there is no remote control that can turn the thing on when I sit if I sit on my couch first.
@Graylik the problem is the "smart" part of the TV is usually an afterthought with underwhelming hardware. This results in the LCD panel outliving the computer which powers it. It would be better for the consumer and environment if TVs were just dumb with any smartness coming from a small set top box which can be mounted to the back of the device.
