Adding A Dyslexia-Friendly Mode To A Website - John C. Barstow @ Smashing Mag: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2021/11/dyslexia-friendly-mode-website/
In my browser engines I make sure it's easy to restyle a webpage with different stylesheet, whether provided by the reader or webpage author. Linking to a stylesheet will not sure it's source code; it'll restyle the previous page!
Haphaestus will utilize the "angle" (or a colour) button to cycle between <link rel="alternative stylesheet>s.
This post is golden. I’d like to pull some quotes out but can’t choose because it’s all good.

If you're new to Mastodon and the Fediverse, welcome! 👋
You can find people to follow at these places:
https://communitywiki.org/trunk - A community-built, opt-in directory of people looking for followers
https://mastodon.online/@FediFollows/106855947486154929 - A manually curated directory of intresting accounts that generally focus on single topics or themes (and you can see the latest entries by following @FediFollows)
There are millions of people you can follow on here, but the above are good ways of getting started.
You can find even more people by searching for hashtags, and make sure you include hashtags on your own posts so that they can be discovered more easily.
Also, post a short introduction about yourself with the hashtag #Introduction
I'm seeing an increase in the amount of accounts signing up specifically to spread anti-Muslim hatred. The signups themselves appear legitimate – it's clearly a human typing in their reason to join and not just a bot.
We don't tolerate anti-Muslim hate speech on this instance, and never will. Those accounts get banned as soon as we find them. If you see something, report it, and we'll take care of it as soon as possible. Take care everyone.
Sharing a thread from Twitter because I thought it was a good metaphor to consider.
Also, murder is bad.
“ It’s management’s job to set the tone (and hold the line) that errors and failure are our friends and humble teachers, not something to fear and avoid. Be calm. … Managers need to recognize that 80 percent of the bugs are caught with 20 percent of the effort, and after that you get sharply diminishing returns. Modern software systems need less investment in pre-prod hardening and more investment in post-prod resiliency.
“Engineers should be on call for their own code. While deploying, we should reflexively be looking at the world through the lens of our instrumentation. Is it working the way we expected it to? Does anything seem weird? Though fuzzy and imprecise, it’s the only way you’re going to catch those perilous unknown unknowns, the problems you never knew to expect.”
“ Admitting that some bugs will make it to prod no matter what we do has been an unspeakable reality. Because of this, we find ourselves starved of ways to understand, observe, and rigorously test our code in its most important, luteal phase of development.”
“I test in prod”
Love this post from http://www.twitter.com/mipsytipsy about building a sustainable culture of resiliency.
I just learned about the #mozilla #privacy guide.
Does anyone know if there exists an API for this data so one could potentially build a browser extension and display privacy tags when doing things like online shopping?
Do you follow someone on Mastodon who does great posts but not-so-great boosts? Or maybe they boost too much?
You can mute just their boosts if you like:
1. Go to their profile
2. Click on "..."
3. Select "Hide boosts from"
This will not affect their own posts, which you will see as normal.
P.S. If you're new here, boosts are the equivalent of retweets or shares 🔁
