It’s cool to highlight the problem - open source developers almost uniformly do not want our code used to spread hate or incite violence.
There is also a movement that is trying to solve this, and it’s worth acknowledging.
In an attempt that proved ineffective, but reflected an interest in addressing this problem, @thejameskyle modified the license on lerna to prohibit use by org.s which collaborate with ICE.

The most serious solution I know of is the Hippocratic License [1] which prohibits use of the software which violates principles of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
I’m not an expert on any of this but looking forward to learning more.
I hope platforms like https://twitter.com/WIRED will highlight the work being done to find solutions, as well as surfacing the problem.
