When faced with bigotry you cannot correct the problem by accusing them of being a bigot, not if you really want to fix anything.
Instead try to engage this person in a friendly manner instead of an accisitive one. If you put someone on the defensive your message will be lost.
Build empathy, find common ground and explain why certain behavior negatively impacts you. The best way to change a bigot is to build empathy and awareness of the harm they are causing, not open hostility.
Open Source and Decentralized social network? Count me in! While nothing is bullet proof I do feel this strategy makes more sense from a security / privacy perspective. (I like not being a product by using someone's service!)
