Ok ... so serious question here Mastodon folks ...
Is it a conflict of interest for a LARGE streamer on Twitch to be promoting a game that they're invested in but not saying they're invested in it? And worse, the game they're promoting, no one can actually say WHAT it is, but they talked about it for 30 minutes. So they have nothing. They're promoting something that doesn't exist, but they're invested in.
Because I think it is and basically just got laughed at for even asking the question.
So many IT departments need to read this repeatedly until they **get** it...

The open codecs are in Safari for WebRTC, but disallowed for <video>?

"Imagine if in the 1980s any regime had demanded every citizen install omniscient monitoring devices in their homes, and carry one around in their pockets. It would be seen as the ultimate authoritarian nightmare. Yet here we are"
Excellent opinion piece:

Wait, until the last sentence, I thought this was satire. This is literally someone presenting this future as a desirable outcome?!?!?!?

Today starts the first #WWDC since I retired, so it’s also the first time that I don’t have to keep working conscientiously while my attention is really on the Keynote. 😉
For others like me who wondered why Mastodon doesn’t have a “boost with comment” functionality similar to Birdsite’s “retweet with comment” feature:
Back in 2015, when my daughter Poesy was seven, I read her a story every night at bedtime. It was a glorious time, not just for our father-daughter relationship, but for my own relationship with kids' literature, which is a spectacular and rich part of the publishing world that grownups frequently have no contact with.

Code bloat has become astronomical https://www.positech.co.uk/cliffsblog/2022/06/05/code-bloat-has-become-astronomical/
"I think I opened an SVG file in [Edge] yesterday, and here we are, another 12 useless pieces of code wasting memory, and probably polling the cpu as well.
"This is utter, utter madness. Its why nothing seems to work, why everything is slow, why you need a new phone every year, and a new TV to load those bloated streaming apps, that also must be running code this bad."
what in the fuck is this? the crypto spammers are coming for us I guess
"Bitcityz is a Decentralized FediverseFi Platform, we’ve plan to enable the ActivityPub protocol to enable connecting other SocialFi along with many decentralized platforms like PeerTube (video-hosting & streaming), Fundkwhale (storage audio archive) …, etc., to connect with us,"
I feel bad that I can’t give credit. This is a screenshot that was sent by a friend of a friend. But it is so apt about #NFT and #web3. #beaniebabies
