@Bingojackson I never got round to trying Vivaldi as I didn't have a reason to ditch Chrome. It's nice to no longer have to sacrifice speed to satisfy my open source leanings now though!

Does anyone know if there's an instance especially for developers?

Regarding the popularity of #mastodon :
I believe hosting companies are playing here a vital role

WordPress has grew to be a large part of the internet - greatly facilitated by one-click-installs provided by hosting company.

I think in today day and age where so much #OSS tools are available we should see more hosting company dedicated to provide one-click instal for #mastodon but also rocketchat, nextcloud, etc

@pyrorian the mentality of nothing to hide is driving me nuts.. It has nothing to do with you being good, it has everything to do with your government going bad and turning against you for no apparent reason dammit.

Has anyone used tachyons.io/ on anything yet? If so what did you think?

After doing more testing, I decided to go ahead and provide shared hosting for Mastodon instances.
This will be a trial but unless something goes horribly wrong, I believe that I can price it at €5/month for an instance of up to 100 users.
This can greatly diminish the cost of running small instances and remove the technical barrier from everyone who wishes to run their own Mastodon Instance.
Let me know what you think masto.host/#pricing-table

It's almost as if tech journalists do the bare minimum of research before moving on to the next topic. Or that the tech industry has become so focused on chasing giant piles of money that nobody can remember a time when true successes on the internet were achieved by hobbyists working on passion projects with no regard for how much money they might make
