Welp, I've gotten comfortable.

Time to flash a new operating system.

Yup. Rookie move, i encrypted a partition and then messed with the firmware. Now i can't get back to my encrypted partition... looking to see if i can wipe an encrypted partion in ubuntu.

sudo dd if=/dev/zero of /dev/mmclbl0p3

It's amazing how wiping a drive with literally nothing on it still makes me nervous.

Try not to use dd directly. Put it in a small script where you also check if the of= really is a block device.

That's a good tip. Honestly i just wanted to mess up the encryption so i could write over the drive, but i had the sense that i was playing with a dangerous command.
